Inalto Abruzzo Bianco Doc 2018
€ 24.00
Made from the combination of the two white-grape varieties grown on the farm: Pecorino and Trebbiano from Abruzzo.
The Pecorino, harvested in mid-September with a yield of 50 quintals per hectare, macerates on the skins and then ferments spontaneously, with the help of a pied de cuve, with different percentages in steel and wood, for about four months.
The Trebbiano is harvested in mid-October, with a yield of about 80 quintals per hectare. It is macerated on the skins for 72 hours then it is fermented in steel and wood for about four months.
The two masses were assembled in January: 60% Trebbiano Abruzzese and 40% Pecorino.
Straw-yellow with golden reflections, it is complex on the nose, ethereal with peculiar hints of enamel and talc on a fascinating base of ripe citrus fruits. In the mouth it is enveloping and fleshy, it immediately embraces the taste buds with the same sensations that were experienced on the nose, in particular ripe fruit. It is a powerful and fresh white wine at the same time; taut and pleasantly persistent.
The Inalto Abruzzo Bianco Doc 2018 represents the region well and is excellently made. It is relaxed and vertical, scented with boxwood and grapefruit, and balanced and fruity on the palate
